SMALL FARMS ASSOCIATION

Small Farms Association Modbury Devon
SMALL FARMS ASSOCIATION

The Small Farms Association (SFA) was formed in October 1997 by a group of West Country farmers frustrated at the failure of major farming unions to address the concerns and needs of small scale farmers.

Small Farms Association Devon

From humble beginnings the association has grown rapidly in size and influence and now represents the interests of many small farms throughout the UK.

Since its formation the SFA has:

  • Lobbied MPs and MEPs for representation.
  • Contributed to policy development by working with DEFRA.
  • Provided wide-ranging advice and support to members.
  • Worked closely with other farming organisations.
  • Organised a wide variety of events and discussion groups.

As a dynamic forward-thinking organisation, the SFA is always keen to welcome new members, particularly farmers who manage their land using traditional and organic systems and anyone interested in conserving the countryside.
